One of the most popular jig trailers in bass fishing is the Rage Craw made by Strike King. This 4 inch long soft-plastic craw is also commonly fished with a Texas rig or Carolina rig.
The Rage Craw is part of Strike King’s Rage Tail series, where the tail-end of the baits have a ridged edge. In this case the tips of the claws are equipped with that ridge.
The purpose of the ridge is to create a highly erratic action, and these claws really get going when this bait moves through the water. If you’re wondering why other craws don’t have this feature it’s because Strike King has a patent on the design.
One of the more unique thing about these craws is they come in clamshell packaging. This keeps them in perfect formation within the package. This prevents them from getting bent or kinked like soft plastics can sometimes get when they’re packaged loosely in a bag.
Rage Craws come 7 to a pack and in many different colors. If you’re looking for a well made craw with a ton of action give this a try.
Baby Rage Craw
If you’re looking for a smaller trailer with similar action they make a downsized version called the Baby Rage Craw. This bait is an inch shorter at only 3 inches long but packs the same wild claw movement as the original.
Rage Lobster
On the contrary, if you want a bigger version of the Rage Craw then check out the Rage Lobster. This bait is too big to be used effectively as a jig trailer but works great when Texas rigged.
Rage DB Craw
If the action of the Rage Craw is too much for you then you can try the Rage DB Craw. This bait was designed with the help of Pro Fisherman Denny Brauer. (That’s what the DB stands for). The purpose was to make a Rage Craw with a more slender profile and with a more subtle action.
