About

bass fishingI started this webpage to be a valuable aid to those searching for good information on bass fishing lures. When I started bass fishing, I was overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of lures available. And it was hard to get any real information on which lures might be best for my style of fishing. Most information was geared towards selling a particular lure, rather than what I wanted to know, such as how and why they worked, and how to use them.

I also noticed that a lot of articles and sites were aimed more at the seasoned bass angler, and wannabe tournament pros. Everyone does not aspire to win the Bass Masters Classic, or go out and buy a $50,000 bass boat. Most of us are content to just toss a lure for a few hours at a local pond.

So I wanted to start a site that would provide information to the novice, and more casual angler. Here, you will find basic information on most of the major types of bass lures that are on the market now, as well as some interesting facts about some of the classic lures and the people who designed them. You will also find some some information about how best to use each type of lure, in a very general sense.

Of course, the best teacher on how to use bass lures is practice, practice, practice. Use as many lures as you can, as much as you can, in as many places as you can. You’ll be amazed at how fast you will improve this way. Nothing can replace experience.

I hope you find this website useful. Feel free to contact me with questions or suggestions, as I am always looking for ways to improve the site.

And most of all….keep on fishing.
